The lyrics were written in the summer of 2006,and recorded [in nyc] in febuary 2007.remixed by sergio in spring on 2007.SKYPE CALL ,was inspired by my extreme lack of inspiration in [former] communist prague[CZ].so bored in this country set back thirty years,i turned my back on the groteque 'sexual revolution' of eastern europe,[primitive,cruel,arrogant men rudely demanding to 'make sex'] sorely missing the brain stimulation of kinky ,intriguing ,flirtation, i took note of sexy, intelligent comments left on myspace,by would be fans/friends.The ensuing emails,offered the promise of romance , and the offers to perform in portugal.skype calling was the next phase,and off to portugal i flew.of couse the man was a psycho, but the gigs were enthusiastically recieved. once back in horrid prague, i wrote skype call.finally going back to nyc,to fight my landlord for my rent stabilized ,manhattan apartment,i recorded the vocals in the williamsburg,brooklyn studiowith christian of science vs nature. Back in lisbon to perform,i met sergio bastos,who did a killer remix!and thats how this sexy electric song came to life!

~ Suede (& Neil Tennant) live 1996 - director: Mike Christie
Views: 8596 |  |  |  |  | I directed this concert film of the last of three nights at London's Roundhouse, marking the end of a world tour. It took place December 15th, 1996 . From a production point of view, it wasn't a major number - the concert would be used for promo purpose ...More s only - and I had only a few cameras, but I really like the film.
There's 4 songs here, the first two feature a very special guest. Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys) joined Brett to duet 'Saturday Night' and sing a uniquely Suede arrangement of the PSB classic 'Rent'.
The band continue as a five piece to perform a personal favourite of mine 'Europe Is Our Playground' and the mega hit 'Beautiful Ones'.
Apologies: similarly to the Clapham Grand concert, it's digitised from an old VHS so it's not brilliant quality, but it's still good enough to enjoy! |
