formaset The comment below was for dementedc

formaset I Know. NON musicians! LOL!

Markcello Amen!

888erkan888 I read that it´s about a girl lying in bed, depressed becouse she has lost her faith in god. It´s simply genious, and James voice makes it even more powerful emotionally!

dementedc I love how the audience starts to clap along and then gets confused by the rhythm and stops. This song makes my brain hurt, but is also the most beautiful thing ever.

PabloProg this composition is beatiful but only kevin moore playing this music in Dream Theater is providing.Jordan rudess is fast but your songs is very ugly

ProGRocK1128 Labrie is back

reandor yeah it gets boring after hundred times :D

chocojoelikesrush For me, Scenes from a Memory is one of the more catchier albums, but gets boring after listening to it a lot.

Keyboardzrock Well, it isn't that simple. The chord progression is straightforward, yes, but the constant change of time signatures makes this quite elaborate. Plus, the harmonies on the piano are coloured beautifully. Some of Moore's finest work.

rodrigozamo it's weird to see them performing this song live... they said they'll never perform neither this song or space dye-vest since both were original compositions of kevin moore..

rodrigozamo "where images and words are running deep" such a beautiful song..

Ifrid87 no,the theme appears in all the album's songs ... this song is beautiful,like all others song of that album...

speedylamborghini ah.. one more thing just a few people realize that this shy and little song is the central theme of the whole album. The sentence "images and words" are only presented at this lyrics and it describes that little girl from the cover. smoothy and smart

speedylamborghini simple song BEST lyrics very strong of them to play this song in a mainly broad event. great

Accavarium lol i expected the crowd to "laugh" at dream theater with that song because it's "gods of METAL". i dont talk about me, i like their sentimental side, but i have to much experience with those gayheads just listenings to the metal side of any band.

metalbaird This song would be classed as a progressive melodic metal song or something, Dream theater themselves are Progressive Metal, which shows they are pretty professional at everything they play tbh, its a very hard genre to master.

megamania555 Dream Theater are Prog Rock, Octavariium is their best album for understanding their range of tunes, but my personal favpurate is Scene's from a Memory

rhxt1002 just watched the 1993 performance in Japan.... James is back again!

doomedarkness I WAS #@!&IN THERE!!!!

josephguitarist i think ur right, its a metal song. it shows that metal can have #@!&ing beautiful melodies and isnt all just brutal

jamahlsoares I don't think so, I listen to diverse music, but everyone has their opinion.

antifleto You are so narrow-minded...:S

hmm2112 lol, rudess really can't keep solid time at all.

BavaroiseNL666 Nothing :D

Chaos In Motion 2007-2008(Deluxe Collector's Edition)(3 CD/2 DVD)

Dream Theater's Chaos In Motion World Tour kicked off June 3rd, 2007 in Milan Italy and ended on June 4th 2008 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Chaos In Motion 2007-2008 captures it all. Legendary drummer Mike Portnoy has assembled over 3 hours of live performances spanning the globe. Complete with a behind the scenes documentary, live screen projection films, music videos and a never before seen photo gallery, Dream Theater bring their fans the ultimate tour souvenir. This Deluxe Collector's Edition 5 disc set is limited to 5,000 pieces. It includes the standard double DVD set plus three audio CDs of the entire live performance featured in the DVD.

2008-11-29 -- 5/5:: Great sound quality; Amazing set list
I don't think that I like this live Dream Theater album better than "Live at Budokon" but the set list is awsome. These are some of my favorite D.T. songs. Of course, this being a Dream Theater album, the sound quality and musicianship are phenomenal.

I think that this would be a good place to start for a non-fan. The set list is excellent and contains a very diverse collection of music from D.T.'s entire career - including five tracks from thier latest (and best?) studio album. Also, my two favorite D.T. songs are included in this album: "The Ministry of Lost Souls", and "In The Name of God".

The only negative things that I can say about this album it that "Blind Faith" sounded a little weird, and that the album is a compilation of shows rather than one concert. There is a different vibe about a live album that takes place on one night - you feel like you were really there.

Here is what I said about Dream Theater (my favorite band) in another review:

There is somthing else that I love about Dream Theater - besides the music itself. It is the fact that if you are a D.T. fan, your band doesn't dissapoint you. Almost every rock band ends up sucking a little more with each album; You never get what you really wanted. With D.T., I can honestly say that I have watched the band get better and better with each album. They have never let me down. If they are going to release a new album, I have confidence that it won't suck and when I see them live, I know that I will be blown away.

Once I started listening to Dream Theater, years ago, I found it hard to listen to mainstream rock. It just bores me. D.T. has elevated rock music to it's highest level so far. They are almost "beyond" rock music. For me, Dream Theater's music is more like great classical music - it's beautiful, profound and complexed, not just entertaing.

Until the day I die, I will never forget the time I saw Dream Theater live at Jones Beach, in the summer of 2007. It was the best concert experiance of my life; I practically floated out the arena afterwards. They sounded incredible and played some of my all-time favorite songs.

Thank you SO much Dream Theater, for working so hard to please your fans and for writting incredible music for the past 20 years.

2008-11-03 -- 4/5:: CD's are great, DVD only recommended for die-hard fans.
I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition before knowing I could get the mp3s from the CDs at Amazon. I give it four stars just because of the CDs.

The production of the first DVD is not the best (haven't seen the second one). As another review states, is not Score. I would say image quality is not for today's big HDTVs. The audio doesn't sound live, you can't hear the crowd. Still, I have to say, it was great to somehow revive the experience of being in a show from their 2007 tour.

What I didn't like is that if feels as if this DVD was never planned, but at the last moment, they came up with any footage they had and tried to put it together.

I would say: If you're a die-hard fan, get it. If not, get the audio and buy the Score DVD.

2008-10-20 -- 5/5:: Chaos In Motion!!!
This is yet another great collection of live songs from one of the most tallented bands around. Many who have reviewed this product have complained that it isn't one complete concert, but rather several concerts strung together. That didn't bother me any, though. This showcases many songs not seen or heard in a live recording before from the Systematic Chaos album. My only real complaint is that James LaBrie's vocals have way too much treble, and at times can hurt your ears. The supplimental material is really good, and shows how Dream Theater has the freedom to tour on their schedule and still spend pleanty of time with their families. I can't wait until their next album and tour. These guys constantly bring us something new with each album, and their live performances keep getting better and better!

2008-10-18 -- 5/5:: Great one! Ignore the stupid comments
This Double DVD, Triple CD is Great... I have every Dream Theater CD/DVD ever released... So will you guys SHUT THE FU???!! You make this DVD sound like garbage!! I read your comments before watching it, and I really thought it was as bad as Cliff 'em All or something (Cliff 'em All was ok for it's time)... In chaos in motion, you can see & hear everything the F CLEAR AS CRYSTAL!!! So what the F are you little B*****s whining about?? Your reviews SCARED me! I thought my DVD was a total waste of money or something (of course I was gonna keep it for the record anyways:P)... Sure it's no Budokan or Score... But hell it's still F'IN' AWESOME! You can still see every solo and every good part zoomed & more!!! It's pretty AWESOME! Specially if you've been @ a show during that tour, even MORE SO...

I do agree with those who say it was more for the fans than more new listeners... But S**t son don't make it sound worse than it really is.. It's great!I would still recommend 1. Score, 2. Budokan to new listeners but fans should definitely get this one... This is what this one aims at; the fanbase.. Hell on one hand you complain that they're goin' "commercial" and now that they made a fan-special, you complain it'a only for die-hard fans, WTF is wrong with you people??? LMAO

A special note to the 60-year-old who said they shouldn't use F on stage: Kindly go to some Drag Queen Bar and ask them to be gentle with you.. WAKE UP GRAMPS, THIS IS METAL!!! You're not old school, you're old period! Um 5 words: Listen to Elton John F*g!! :D

Background: Have all Dream Theater CDs/DVDs ever realeased and can play 1/2 of all Dream Theater's songs on the guitar (all my favourite ones).

P.s. Sorry for being rude, but most of you guys shouldn't bother commenting... You don't even understand what it's all about.

2008-10-15 -- 5/5:: It's amazing
Got it, it's fantastic worth every penny. Got mine 39.99 at FYE.

The Ministry of Lost Souls is awesome, Take The Time is stellar, and In the Presence of Enemies is stupendous.

I watched some of the documentaries, they really show that the band has a lot of love for each other.

Overall really awesome.

king at it; the first way is drummer "A" vs. drummer "B" and asking who is best or who would win a competition? I believe this is wrong as neither drummer asked to be judged or entered into a competition. This is NOT what I am trying to do. I will say it again; this is not a competition and not what I am trying to do. The other way of looking at it is one of advanced appreciation. Let me explain what I mean. Take a drummer like Danny Carey; do you enjoy his music on its own without anything to compare it to? Yes, I do. Now take a drummer like Mike Portnoy, can you enjoy his music on its own without any comparison? Yes, I also do. But if I want to know how much I enjoy either piece or either drummer I need something to compare it against. Our first natural comparison is with ourselves. "I like Danny Carey, and will pay money to see Danny because he is better than me". Fair statement? I don't see Danny Carey lining up to see my clinics. Why do most of us appreciate Danny's drummer more then say Larry Mullins Jr's drummer? Because it is further from where we are. A lot of us can play what Larry plays so we think of him as a good or great drummer, but with Danny being so far pasted us we often think of him as extremely superior or a master. To take an appreciation to a more advanced level you need to compare with another higher standard. There should only be a small variation between your personal appreciation of two players like Danny and Mike, or Vinnie or Buddy. Who you like might change from day to day and that's fine, today you might like Danny more, tomorrow you're in a mood for Mike How do you know what Tool song or Elton John song you like best? Compare it to another Tool or Elton song right? What I am doing is not wrong. I am exercising my rights to free speech and I am offering you an opportunity to join me and share your opinion. There are no winners or losers, only good comments and bad comments. And I can guarantee you that at some point you have made a judgment call on a drummer based on another drummer. g of the pilot pronounced the episode as the beginning of Volume One," Kring said in an interview. "Volume One comes to a conclusion at the end of episode 23, and Volume Two starts with the opening of season two. And Volume Two is a different story." Kring added: "We could have new people and new storylines and new ideas and new threats and new bad guys and new heroes. So I would prepare the audience for that idea, that it's not just a continuing serialized storyline about only these people. It's a little more the 24 model than the Lost model." The first season of Heroes is exploring what happens when a disparate group of ordinary people discover they have extraordinary abilities and attempt to save New York from disaster. "Heroes needs to evolve, and if we are positing an idea that this is happening all over the world to many, many people, then we get to see some of those people and see how their story fits in." Kring also confirmed that some of the current heroes just might not survive this season, but added: "Many of your favorites will live to fight again." Marcos B. e on any instrument on Expert, this was obtained on drums for me) Technically 5 hours actually when you put only actual game time together. This is one of the Impossible drumming songs. I don't care how bad I did, I just wanted to get a video up ASAP, and there was really no deep thought in the OD path either. I might as well post this before I get requests saying "Hey kkoser! Do Dream Theatre!" I don't mind playing this song actually, in fact, I kinda like it. This song takes quite a bit of stamina to play. The setlist in Rock Band 2 is amazing. Also, I mentioned Dragonforce, I will think it stereotypically of you Dream Theatre fans to make a random comment saying "Dragonforce sucks!" This is just a video showing off the drum chart for one of the most popular songs in the game. Not a video to start a Dragonforce vs Dream Theatre war. I'm not comparing the bands' skills at all, just comparing the lengths of their songs. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I would appreciate if you refrain from the Dream Theatre vs Dragonforce wars. It just makes you look like completely obsessed fan boys and it doesn't make you special. Seriously, when I found some Halo 3 video with a Dragonforce song in it, I was all like "Nice touch adding Dragonforce to that part" then some random Dream Theatre fan decides to start a fight with me. I'm not saying all Dream Theatre fans are like this, but I do find that a majority of them on Youtube like to start Dragonforce vs Dream Theatre wars. Again, please refrain from starting these wars. Also, no console wars please. So down below are some questions you might want answered. Q) What set are you using? A) I'm using my Rock Band drum set covered with silencers, if you're going to message me about these, don't bother. I highly recommend not using these. They increase the chance of your drums breaking if they're used too much. They don't offer a better rebound nor do they offer a bigger life span to your drums. Q) How'd you get the game early? A) Uh, just did. Q) I could probably do this and I'm only 9 years old. A) Guess what, no-one cares how old you are. Q) Do you play drums in real life? A) Yes I do. I got into them from Rock Band so I don't have much experience, which is why my fills suck. (Drum Trainer doesn't help, trust me) Q) It's spelled "Theater" not "Theatre" A) Theatre is the British way of spelling it, so there's not much of a difference. Q) Actually, Dream Theater is an American band so you can't do that. A) Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater Theater! Happy? Q) How old are you? A) 18 Q) Get a life and play a real instrument, #@!&got! A) So I don't have a life just because I'm good at a video game? I can definitely see how great your life must be. Also, I play piano, so sucks to your flame. Q) OMFGzorz, Y R tere onry half teh bass notes?! A) It's only a one bass pedal game. Adding double bass notes to a game with only one pedal would be fricken retarded. Q) They should've put double bass in RB2 A) It'd be cool, but there would be alot of problems with that: They would have to account for people who only have RB drum sets. Also, there are many people who would find double bass to be difficult to grasp, even people who play real drums. Q) You think this song is hard? Look at Visions! A) If you want my opinion on it, this song is harder to pass than Visions. Visions is just fast, while this song has alot more technical manuevers that can confuse you.

Not really a technique to die for but more of a lesson in simplicity in music ideas (meaning being heavy and addictive without sounding like Dream Theater). The 2nd part of the interview is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74ISJqCppgc (yes, I know the quality is bad but it's the best there was - no comments on that please). And please keep your comments meaningful. "Max is God" etc. are obviously not. And to all those people who say that he can't really play the guitar... just see (no, I mean SEE, not just hear) what he used to play until Chaos AD. He is a brilliant rhythm guitarist, it's just that by his own choice he now plays the absolute basics (which, of course, provokes all the relevant comments).
