~ Dream Theater - Take Away My Pain
Views: 55982 | | | | | 11-22-1997, Irving Plaza, New York.
Very emotional performance.. James explains why.
One of my personal favorites.
-
I was sitting on the edge of his bed
Staring at the headlines on the paper
He said, 'Look at poor Gene Kelly
I guess he won't ...More be singing in the rain.'
You can take away my heroes
Can you take away my pain
Take away my pain
Leave the cold outside
Please don't let it rain
Don't stumble on my pride
Take away my pain
I'm not frightened anymore
Just stay with me tonight
I'm tired of this fight
Soon I'll be knocking at your door
She was standing by the edge of his bed
Staring at the message on their faces
He said, 'What else can you do, babe?
I guess I won't be coming home again.'
They just took away all my promises
Make them take away my pain
Take away my pain
Leave the cold outside
Please don't let it rain
Don't stumble on my pride
Take away my pain
I'm not frightened anymore
Just stay with me tonight
I'm tired of this fight
Soon I'll be knocking at your door
His final scene
The actor bows
And all those years
Are gone somehow
The crowd applauds
The curtain falls
I was standing by the edge of the water
I noticed my reflection in the waves
Then I saw you looking back at me
And I knew that for a moment
You were calling out my name
You took away my hero
Will you take away my pain
Take away my pain
Let the cold inside
It's time to let it rain
There's nothing left to hide
Take away my pain
I'm not frightened anymore
I'm learning to survive
Without you in my life
Till you come knocking at my door |

~ Dream Theater - Learning To Live (1/2)

Learning To Live (1ª Parte)
____________________________
There was no time for pain
No energy for anger
The sightlessness of hatred slips away
Walking through winter streets alone
He stops and takes a breath
With confidence and self control
I look at the world and see no understanding
I'm waiting to find some sense of strength
I'm begging you from the bottom of my heart to show meunderstanding
I need to live life
Like some people never will
So find me kindness
Find me beauty
Find me truth
When temptation brings me to my knees
And I lay here drained of strength
Show me kindness
Show me beauty
Show me truth
The ways that your heart sounds makes all the difference
It's what decides if you'll endure the pain that we all feel
The way that your heart beats makes all the difference
In learning to live
Here before me is my soul
I'm learning to live
I won't give up
Till I've no more to give
Listening to the city
Whispering its violence
I set out watching from above
The 90's bring new questions
New solutions to be found
I fell in love to be let down
Once again we dance in the crowd
At times a step away
From a common fear that's all spread out
It won't listen to what you say
Once you're touched and you stand alone
To face the bitter fight
Once I reached for love
And now I reach for life
Another chance to lift my life
Free the sensation in my heart
To ride the wings of dreams into changing horizons
It brings inner peace within my mind,
As I'm lifted from where I've split my life
I hear an innocent voice
I hear kindness, beauty and truth

~ Circus Maximus - Glory Of The Empire
Views: 1020 | | | | | Circus Maximus - Glory Of The Empire - from the Album "The 1st Chapter"
Lyrics:
The men stood tall on the battleground
With pride in their eyes
And with faith to guide them
Blood was spilled over the fields
They won, but for what cause?
What we ...More do echoes in eternity
Now as brothers they unite
And as enemies they shall apart
For the glory of the Empire
Now I've been betrayed
But there is no one here to tell
I must walk towards the deadline
I must walk it alone... all alone
On my quest for a new horizon
I've been waiting for so long
In the time of a desperate fighter
Free me from the spell that I'm in
Throught these eyes I have seen
With my soul I have been drowning
This journey must end
I must enter the scene once again
My name has been taken
My soul has been torn apart
What I have lived for has now been taken away from me
Sold for a penny, I was marked as gold
The arena opens up
...the salute of a thousand souls
I must struggle to win the crowd
Now the time has come
Will I win or fall?
Victory is on my mind
Could it ever be what I have found?
Now the gates are open wide
I must enter the arena
It will bring me one step closer to my revenge
On the quest for a new horizon
I've been waiting for so long
In the time of a desperate fighter
Free me from the spell that I'm in
Through these eyes I have seen
With my soul I have been drowning
This journey must end
I gazed into the night
...where you and I once used to watch the sun set,
And the moon rise
Now as the time pass by, when I can not breath at all
When you reach out your hand
Betray whispers in the wind
An era that never ends
My soul is in blister, but I feel no pain
I can now see what was taken away from me
Through the gates I walk, but I am not alone
I am One, now finally... finally I'm free
On my quest for a new horizon
I've been waiting for so long
In a time of a desperate fighter
Free me from the spell that I'm in
Through these eyes I have seen
With my soul I have been drowning
This journey must end
I have entered the scene again
For the glory of the Empire
That's been built by the hands of slaves
For the glory of the Empire
That's been built by the hands of slaves
To fulfill the master's will |

~ DirtyBlack - Battery (Metallica Cover)
Views: 11390 | | | | | Metallica - Battery
Master of Puppets (1984--1986)
Elektra Records A&R director Michael Alago, and co-founder of Q-Prime Management Cliff Burnstein, attended a September 1984 Metallica concert. Impressed with what they saw, they signed Metallica to Elek ...More tra Records and made the band a client of Q-Prime Management.[15] Metallica's burgeoning success was such that the band's British label Music for Nations issued a limited edition Creeping Death EP, which sold 40,000 copies as an import in the U.S. Two of the three songs on the record (cover versions of Diamond Head's "Am I Evil?", and Blitzkrieg's "Blitzkrieg") appeared on the 1989 Elektra reissue of Kill 'Em All.[16] Metallica embarked on its first major European tour with Tank to an average crowd of 1,300. Returning to the U.S. marked a tour co-headlining with W.A.S.P. and Armored Saint supporting. Metallica played its largest show at the Monsters of Rock festival on August 17, 1985, with Bon Jovi and Ratt at Donington Park in England, playing in front of 70,000 people. A show in Oakland, California, at the Day on the Green festival saw the band play in front of a crowd of 60,000. Metallica's third studio album, Master of Puppets was recorded at Sweet Silence Studios and was released in March 1986. The album peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200, and spent 72 weeks on the chart.[17] The album was the band's first to be certified gold on November 4, 1986, and was certified six times platinum in 2003.[3] Some critics, including Steve Huey of All Music Guide, consider the album to be the "greatest heavy metal album of all time", and earned Metallica the title of the "pioneers of thrash metal".[18] Following the release of the album, Metallica supported Ozzy Osbourne for a U.S. tour.[15] Hetfield broke his wrist skateboarding down a hill and continued the tour performing vocals, with guitar technician John Marshall playing rhythm guitar Master of Puppets is the third album by American thrash metal band Metallica. The album was recorded in 1985[3] and released by Elektra Records on March 26, 1986 (see 1986 in music) in North America.
The album reached number twenty-nine on the U.S. Billboard 200, and has to date sold over six million copies in U.S. alone. It was the last album the band recorded with bass player Cliff Burton and is considered a landmark in the history of heavy metal.
Battery" is the opening track of Metallica's 1986 album Master of Puppets. As with the opening track from Ride the Lightning, Battery begins with a slow, clean guitar part. In this case, as many as four acoustic guitars are layered harmonically before the drums and bass come in with distorted guitars playing a more melodic version of the acoustic part. This lasts until 1:06, when the guitars cut into a very fast minimalist thrash metal riff that is the basis for the rest of the song. In live concerts, the beginning is not played by the band but instead the actual recording is used (recently dropped 1/2 step in key, since the band tunes 1/2 step down). In keeping with the general "control" theme of Master of Puppets, the lyrics of "Battery" discuss the control that anger can have over one's behavior. The title refers to "battery" in the sense of "assault and battery", as shown by these lyrics: "Smashing through the boundaries / Lunacy has found me / Cannot stop the battery". The song is an indirect tribute to the Old Waldorf Club in San Francisco on Battery street.Battery is still an almost constant part of the band's live set list, frequently as the opening or closing song. In some cases, it is also used as a song before the intermission. When played, the song may stop before the interlude, and James Hetfield asks the crowd "Are you alive?... How does it feel to be alive?" and followed by the solo played by Kirk Hammett. During the chorus of the original version, bassist Cliff Burton can be heard roaring the backing vocals each time Hetfield says the title.
In the live version of the song played on the Live #@!&: Binge & Purge album, intros to the songs "No Remorse", "Ride the Lightning", and "So What?" are played in the song. When performed with the San Francisco Symphony in 1999, the intro up to the thrash riff was instead played by string players in the symphony, utilizing pizzicato in the beginning (the original acoustic) then with bows for the rest. The song "The Bitter End" from Sum 41 is very close to the song song was covered by Eric AK (Flotsam & Jetsam), Dave Lombardo, Mike Clark, and Robert Trujillo for Metallic Assault: A Tribute to Metallica. Dave Lombardo .This song (along with the entire Master of Puppets album) was covered by Dream Theater as part of their world tour in 2002 and has been released as an official Bootleg recording. This song was covered by the band Machine Head for Kerrang!'s Master of Puppets: Remastered, and is also included as a bonus track on some versions of their album The Blackening. |

~ Live Free or Die Hard (new trailer 2007)
Views: 5739 | | | | | When a criminal plot is in place to take down the entire computer and technological structure that supports the economy of the United States (and the world), it's up to a decidedly "old school" hero, police detective John McClane, to take down the conspir ...More acy, aided by a young hacker.
Well, I can't believe I'm saying this but the newest edition to the Die Hard series may rank with the first. It's superb direction, fantastic acting, groundbreaking special effects and clever quirps will leave you with (almost) nothing to complain about. Die Hard may very well be the best action flick of 2007. It can be beat, but I doubt by a sequel.
I am proud to say that Bruce Willis still has some John McClane left in him. Bruce gets to say one of most famous lines in action film history, "Yippy Ki-ya Motha ******!", without cuts, he even gets to talk to himself, a scene that is almost identical to the scene in the air vent of the first film. (C'mon, it'll be fun, come out to the coast, have a few laughs.)
About all the controversy for the MPAA rating...it was all useless. Die Hard acts just like a rated R film, just because it says PG-13 doesn't mean its not as violent as the others. No, he doesn't say the F word, but it's not as bad as you think. It's more of a character to character type of thing then anything else. John McClane learns to bond with a young hacker. (Justin Long) It's more...I don't know..."cute" then the other movies, it doesn't need the F word.
I don't think there is much else to say. Die Hard is one of my best movie experiences to date. The crowd laughed and screamed and then cheered at the end. The only slightest problem I had with this film was the fact that the realism was quite low. Then again, as I have said before, if everything were realistic we wouldn't have action movies.

~ Dream Theater - Master of Puppets - A good performance by the singer
Views: 1306 | | | | | ***AUDIO AND PICTURES ONLY***
So here is it. I don't know where this mp3 file is from (a bootleg? a fan recording?), I found it somewhere in the net and got it, so I can't confirm its origins: where is was recorded, who did it, etc...
Sound quality: ...More It's pretty good, but you will have to pay some attention, because the crowd can be heard singing along.
Pictures: At some point, I got tired and bored of searching for images to fit with the licks/moments and gave up. Sorry. Well, the point of the video is its audio, so no tragedy.
Labrie's performance: I honestly thought it was pretty good, WAY BETTER than the first video on YouTube, and that's the main reason for all this: to try to proove Labrie could sing it acceptebly.
Anyways, leave your honest opinion... |

Views: 2342 | | | | | Footage of Monstrositys appearance at the Rock Al Parque Festival in Bogota Colombia 2003. The line up was from the Rise To Power era minus Tony Norman who was already working with Morbid Angel at this point. The video do#@!&ents the bands first walk out ...More to see the huge crowd. Then there is performance footage combining the bands shot with a local tv shot including interviews with the band. Songs included here are Destroying Divinity and Hymns Of Tragedy as well as studio versions of Exordium and Rise To Power. This was the second trip to Bogota for the band who also played there in 1997. The concert was a headlining appearance for Monstrosity and had an attendance of over 80,000 people. There were video screens on either side of the stage plus 2 more screens 30 yards back from that. Then there were 2 more screens another 30 yards back from that. Making six screens plus a jumbo one behind the band. It was as if Pink Floyd loaned their stage show to Monstrosity. Rock Al Parque is an annual festival the government puts on and is located at Simon Bolivar Park in Bogota. Due to the political climate in Colombia Monstrosity is one of the few US bands to ever play there. Much less twice!! |
