bloodrocuted This song had to grow on me, but it do so REALLY FAST.

Stev0BabaGhanoush Guys, let's just agree to disagree. As long as we can all say Jordan and Kevin were both awesome fits for Dream Theater, and that Derek Sherinian was the least proper keyboardist for them, then we'll all be fine and happy! Really, Rudess and Moore both had awesome moments with the band. I love both for what they brought to the band.

beusshey Portnoy enters in the compo processus also , and his ideas are not always good ....Labrie has no voice any longer , he's about 50 now ..it's a bit sad but there is nothing to do ...only keep remaining the good moments , lol ...

beusshey Now there's only JP who compose ....Rudess had a lot of ideas at the beginning but with liquid and dream , they are all used .....They need to search a new one , but it's impossible cause they won't fired JOrdan ! It's like Metallica and other bands , the best is done yet ! But they 've done so many good songs , if there is one good song in each album it will be already great , like "constant motion " in the last ...(octavarium CD sucks so much ! ) .BUt I love them anyway .

Markcello KEVIN MOORE WAS THE BEST KEY FROM DT´s HISTORY!!

largomalmsteen I think jordan rudess is technically, superior than moore, now in terms of composition,lyrics and albums, i think kevin moore is incredible,Im a great lover or dream theater early days, since images and words, because i hate collins voice, and i love labrie´s. I think dream theater has pass threw many different styles along years went by, i dont think its "comercial" but yes i think musically it went down in the last album,systematic chaos. I love DT, i prefer moore´s days butjordan is great.

kommisar Everyone can have their opinion as to who was the better keyboardist or which DT albums they liked the best; it's just that there are some things that are essentially demonstrably untrue, such as DT being more commercial now and how DT has been #@!& since Kevin left.

DTfanforever I think the biggest loss with kevin was the loss of a great lyricist and Jordan doesn't even right lyrics

DTfanforever I personally am I big fan of the Awake album but I in no way think that the band went down hill after kevin left jordan is a much better keyboardist then kevin and he was in the band when the epic masterpiece scenes from a memory was written so I agree with you for the most part

kommisar So, fine, you miss Kevin's keyboards and his lyrics and you prefer the first 3 DT albums. I get it but quit making it like after Kevin left this band went sour. I just proved you wrong on the commercial thing, and besides that, Jordan is an excellent keyboardist. No one can say how DT would have turned out had Kevin stayed, but one thing I can personally say is I was not impressed with "Awake" and have enjoyed Jordan's work even when compared to Kevin's.

kommisar How do you see any of DT's newer albums commercial by any stretch of the imagination? Do they have singles on the Billboard? Tons of very un-mainstream bands put out music videos. DT has been doing that since "I&W" -- when Kevin was still in the band. Actually, DT's newer albums are LESS commercial than "I&W" (well, maybe with exception to some bits on "Octavarium"), which is their most commercial (easy-to-listen-to and catchy) release and the sales prove it, not to mention the 3 videos.

kommisar I'm getting so #@!&ing tired of the Kevin Moore nuthugging. Let's get some things straight.... If you wanna say you like earlier DT, fine, but what's this about them going downhill as soon as Kevin left? Kevin made "Awake" with them and that was not only nothing compared to "I&W" but one of the lesser albums. Albums like "6 Degrees..." own "Awake". Now DT is commercial? Hahaha! How ironic considering they put out 3 music videos for "I&W" and were on MTV then.

tiroxina89 Kevin moore rules!

Naminator99 I don't get it, are they all on some opiate or depressant? It doesn't make sense...

IgnotusPerIgnotium I agree with fireinthepentagram too! He said it really well..for Kevin Moore if he decided to stay , Dream Theater would have exceled VERY much. On the other hand i respect Jordan Rudess, he is talented and he is very technical, a complete musician. But Moore was a part of the soul of Dream Theater...irreplaceable!

FiReBLaDe47 6:42 to 6:51 is #@!&ing incredible... LaBrie, singer of the 90's that is a magical part .......

drmplaya34 I think themusicman777 used the word "positive" to describe songs in major keys or with major choruses.

Brooseeo can you upload Take The Time from this amazing show please?

tiagoarthasbr I agree with fireinthepentagram =) DT lost something with Moore´s departure, but Rudess managed to give DT new life... I like them both... I´m sorry for Moore, but I´m glad with Rudess =)

AleDreams7 I agree..nomore album of DT sounds like that masterpiece of Images....

fireinthepentagram Among Jordan with the highest talent and sense of perfection and Derek with his charisma and special elements, MOORE is the one to be my favourite keyboard player of DT for many reasons. The only fact I don´t approve from him, is the worst decision he made in his life: Leaving DT.

fireinthepentagram Kevin Moore was a fundamental part of DT essence and made contributions to the most incredibly perfect-written and composed masterpieces they´ve ever done. When he was gone, a good part of DT was broken, however, when they recorded ACOS with Derek, they gave life to a very brilliant song made in the old days, and when Jordan Rudess showed up, the lost part was rebuilt and evolutioned with Rudess style.

lafree This sounds so damn incredible you actually can't put it into words! I must even partly agree with many comments on here saying that DT lost a bit of themselves. I can't tell you how much I love DT still today but it's sometimes hard for me to understand their intentions now with all that music video stuff and 'commercial'(used the word with care) thing! It's music and should only stay that way. simply give us awesome music and tour as you're used to do DT! Progress but be loyal to yourself!!!!!

gunstar9 Dream Theater lost their atmosphere with Kevin Moore's departure...

demonight2 lol, go hear Simple Plan, LaBrie just fit everything they needed...

Chaos In Motion 2007-2008(Deluxe Collector's Edition)(3 CD/2 DVD)

Dream Theater's Chaos In Motion World Tour kicked off June 3rd, 2007 in Milan Italy and ended on June 4th 2008 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Chaos In Motion 2007-2008 captures it all. Legendary drummer Mike Portnoy has assembled over 3 hours of live performances spanning the globe. Complete with a behind the scenes documentary, live screen projection films, music videos and a never before seen photo gallery, Dream Theater bring their fans the ultimate tour souvenir. This Deluxe Collector's Edition 5 disc set is limited to 5,000 pieces. It includes the standard double DVD set plus three audio CDs of the entire live performance featured in the DVD.

2008-11-29 -- 5/5:: Great sound quality; Amazing set list
I don't think that I like this live Dream Theater album better than "Live at Budokon" but the set list is awsome. These are some of my favorite D.T. songs. Of course, this being a Dream Theater album, the sound quality and musicianship are phenomenal.

I think that this would be a good place to start for a non-fan. The set list is excellent and contains a very diverse collection of music from D.T.'s entire career - including five tracks from thier latest (and best?) studio album. Also, my two favorite D.T. songs are included in this album: "The Ministry of Lost Souls", and "In The Name of God".

The only negative things that I can say about this album it that "Blind Faith" sounded a little weird, and that the album is a compilation of shows rather than one concert. There is a different vibe about a live album that takes place on one night - you feel like you were really there.

Here is what I said about Dream Theater (my favorite band) in another review:

There is somthing else that I love about Dream Theater - besides the music itself. It is the fact that if you are a D.T. fan, your band doesn't dissapoint you. Almost every rock band ends up sucking a little more with each album; You never get what you really wanted. With D.T., I can honestly say that I have watched the band get better and better with each album. They have never let me down. If they are going to release a new album, I have confidence that it won't suck and when I see them live, I know that I will be blown away.

Once I started listening to Dream Theater, years ago, I found it hard to listen to mainstream rock. It just bores me. D.T. has elevated rock music to it's highest level so far. They are almost "beyond" rock music. For me, Dream Theater's music is more like great classical music - it's beautiful, profound and complexed, not just entertaing.

Until the day I die, I will never forget the time I saw Dream Theater live at Jones Beach, in the summer of 2007. It was the best concert experiance of my life; I practically floated out the arena afterwards. They sounded incredible and played some of my all-time favorite songs.

Thank you SO much Dream Theater, for working so hard to please your fans and for writting incredible music for the past 20 years.

2008-11-03 -- 4/5:: CD's are great, DVD only recommended for die-hard fans.
I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition before knowing I could get the mp3s from the CDs at Amazon. I give it four stars just because of the CDs.

The production of the first DVD is not the best (haven't seen the second one). As another review states, is not Score. I would say image quality is not for today's big HDTVs. The audio doesn't sound live, you can't hear the crowd. Still, I have to say, it was great to somehow revive the experience of being in a show from their 2007 tour.

What I didn't like is that if feels as if this DVD was never planned, but at the last moment, they came up with any footage they had and tried to put it together.

I would say: If you're a die-hard fan, get it. If not, get the audio and buy the Score DVD.

2008-10-20 -- 5/5:: Chaos In Motion!!!
This is yet another great collection of live songs from one of the most tallented bands around. Many who have reviewed this product have complained that it isn't one complete concert, but rather several concerts strung together. That didn't bother me any, though. This showcases many songs not seen or heard in a live recording before from the Systematic Chaos album. My only real complaint is that James LaBrie's vocals have way too much treble, and at times can hurt your ears. The supplimental material is really good, and shows how Dream Theater has the freedom to tour on their schedule and still spend pleanty of time with their families. I can't wait until their next album and tour. These guys constantly bring us something new with each album, and their live performances keep getting better and better!

2008-10-18 -- 5/5:: Great one! Ignore the stupid comments
This Double DVD, Triple CD is Great... I have every Dream Theater CD/DVD ever released... So will you guys SHUT THE FU???!! You make this DVD sound like garbage!! I read your comments before watching it, and I really thought it was as bad as Cliff 'em All or something (Cliff 'em All was ok for it's time)... In chaos in motion, you can see & hear everything the F CLEAR AS CRYSTAL!!! So what the F are you little B*****s whining about?? Your reviews SCARED me! I thought my DVD was a total waste of money or something (of course I was gonna keep it for the record anyways:P)... Sure it's no Budokan or Score... But hell it's still F'IN' AWESOME! You can still see every solo and every good part zoomed & more!!! It's pretty AWESOME! Specially if you've been @ a show during that tour, even MORE SO...

I do agree with those who say it was more for the fans than more new listeners... But S**t son don't make it sound worse than it really is.. It's great!I would still recommend 1. Score, 2. Budokan to new listeners but fans should definitely get this one... This is what this one aims at; the fanbase.. Hell on one hand you complain that they're goin' "commercial" and now that they made a fan-special, you complain it'a only for die-hard fans, WTF is wrong with you people??? LMAO

A special note to the 60-year-old who said they shouldn't use F on stage: Kindly go to some Drag Queen Bar and ask them to be gentle with you.. WAKE UP GRAMPS, THIS IS METAL!!! You're not old school, you're old period! Um 5 words: Listen to Elton John F*g!! :D

Background: Have all Dream Theater CDs/DVDs ever realeased and can play 1/2 of all Dream Theater's songs on the guitar (all my favourite ones).

P.s. Sorry for being rude, but most of you guys shouldn't bother commenting... You don't even understand what it's all about.

2008-10-15 -- 5/5:: It's amazing
Got it, it's fantastic worth every penny. Got mine 39.99 at FYE.

The Ministry of Lost Souls is awesome, Take The Time is stellar, and In the Presence of Enemies is stupendous.

I watched some of the documentaries, they really show that the band has a lot of love for each other.

Overall really awesome.

____________________________ Learning To Live (1ª Parte) ____________________________ There was no time for pain No energy for anger The sightlessness of hatred slips away Walking through winter streets alone He stops and takes a breath With confidence and self control I look at the world and see no understanding I'm waiting to find some sense of strength I'm begging you from the bottom of my heart to show meunderstanding I need to live life Like some people never will So find me kindness Find me beauty Find me truth When temptation brings me to my knees And I lay here drained of strength Show me kindness Show me beauty Show me truth The ways that your heart sounds makes all the difference It's what decides if you'll endure the pain that we all feel The way that your heart beats makes all the difference In learning to live Here before me is my soul I'm learning to live I won't give up Till I've no more to give Listening to the city Whispering its violence I set out watching from above The 90's bring new questions New solutions to be found I fell in love to be let down Once again we dance in the crowd At times a step away From a common fear that's all spread out It won't listen to what you say Once you're touched and you stand alone To face the bitter fight Once I reached for love And now I reach for life Another chance to lift my life Free the sensation in my heart To ride the wings of dreams into changing horizons It brings inner peace within my mind, As I'm lifted from where I've split my life I hear an innocent voice I hear kindness, beauty and truth (...)

am Theater. The best way to satiate this dedicated legion is to provide them with even more material to devour and Dream Theater are doing just that this September. The band will release Chaos In Motion 2007/2008, which do#@!&ents their "Chaos In Motion" world tour, which kicked off June 3, 2007 at the Monsters of Rock Festival in Milan, Italy and concluded almost a year to the day later on June 4, 2008 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It's essentially a travelogue of their most recent touring experience and it hits shelves on September 23. Chaos In Motion 2007/2008 will be available in two configurations: as a double DVD set and as five disc collector's set which includes two DVDs and three CDs, containing 14 live tracks featured in the DVD set and expanded artwork. The Chaos in Motion Tour was a trek that found the band traversing the globe, playing 115 shows in 105 cities in 35 countries on five continents to hundreds of thousands of fans. It also included the first annual Progressive Nation Tour, an idea that the band had kicked around for a few years and finally launched into action this past spring. Chaos In Motion 2007/2008 is the latest in a series of DVDs from the band and it features performances captured throughout the entirety of the tour, unlike their last three RIAA-certified Platinum DVDs, Metropolis 2000: Live Scenes From New York, Live at Budokan and Score, all of which focused on as single concert event. Drummer and DVD creative director Mike Portnoy plumed his personal archives for footage in order to provide fans with the ultimate tour souvenir. He assembled over three hours of complete live performances, taking footage from shows in Rotterdam, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Boston, Bangkok and Vancouver. The tracks were mixed and effectively brought to life by Kevin Shirley. The second disc is packed with bonus material, including promo videos, live screen projection films, a photo gallery and a 90-minute do#@!&entary that'll make you feel like you're riding in the passenger's seat of the band's tour bus, as it takes you on the road and behind the scenes with the band and crew. It's like a virtual backstage pass that grants fans further unprecedented access. The official content and tracklisting for the DVD are as follows and are subject to change: Double DVD Set Disc One: "Around The World In 180 Minutes" Live Concert Footage 1. Intro/Also Sprach Zarathustra 2. Constant Motion 3. Panic Attack 4. Blind Faith 5. Surrounded 6. The Dark Eternal Night 7. Keyboard Solo 8. Lines In The Sand 9. Scarred 10. Forsaken 11. The Ministry Of Lost Souls 12. Take The Time 13. In The Presence Of Enemies 14. Medley: I. Trial Of Tears II. Finally Free III. Learning To Live IV. In The Name Of God V. Octavarium Disc Two: "Behind The Chaos On The Road" Do#@!&entary Promo Videos: Constant Motion, Forsaken, Forsaken (In Studio), The Dark Eternal Night (In Studio) Live Screen Projection Films: The Dark Eternal Night (N.A.D.S), The Ministry Of Lost Souls, In The Presence Of Enemies Pt. 2 "Mike Portnoy Stage Tour" "Mike Portnoy Backstage Tour" Photo Gallery Deluxe Collector's Edition 5-Disc Set Chaos In Motion 2007/2008 Double DVD Set PLUS: * 3 CD's containing the live 14 tracks featured in the DVD set * Expanded artwork and more Indeed, Chaos In Motion 2007/2008 is a completist piece that will keep Dream Theater diehards satisfied until the band takes to the road again.
