I remember hearing this for the first time when I bought Awake, and being just blown away by the power of the closing section with the guitar solo - the solo itself, the keyboards and guitar backing it up, the rhythm se ...More ctiion...wow. Anyway, that's a little of what's behind my approach to the ending section here, where I beef up the bass and play a kind of hybrid bass/guitar style, and... But I'm spoiling it - go see for yourselves! :)
J'adore le groove de cette toune. Je me souviens de la première fois que je l'ai entendue en achetant Awake, et d'avoir été comme sonné par la puissance du solo de guit à la fin -- le solo lui-meme, les claviers et l'autre guit en fond, la basse, le malade à Portnoy aux drums... ayoye. Anyway, voilà un peu ce qui a motivé la fin de la toune à la basse ici, ou je donne beaucoup de puissance à la basse en jouant un espèce de style hybride basse/guitare, et... Mais je gache la surprise -- allez voir de vous-memes! :) |

He's always been one of my favorite guitarists, a continued source of inspiration throughout the years, and this brill ...More iant 8 minutes of music is one of my favorite reasons why. I used the CD as the backing track, as most of the backing tracks other people have made have some mistakes in the music. The guitar is the "other half" of my main Ibanez mutt (half JPM, half Prestige), pickups are Evolution (neck) and Steve's Special (bridge). |
